Step-by-step instructions – How to screw in a screw pile?

1. Prepare the space

Before driving the screw piles, make sure the ground is clear of any large rocks, stumps, or roots that could interfere with the process. Use a shovel or hoe to level the surface if necessary.

2. Measure and mark

If you are building multiple foundations, such as for a patio, make sure the distances between them are the same.

3. Install the drill

Attach a suitable bit to the electric drill that matches the size of your screw piles. Make sure the tool is properly secured and operates smoothly.

4. Screw in the pile

Place the screw pile on the marked spot and first make a few turns with your hands to get it moving. Then connect the drill and slowly but firmly start screwing it in. It is recommended to maintain a steady speed and pressure so that the pile is screwed in at a right angle.

5. Check the depth and levelness

Using the previously made marking with tape or marker on the screw pile, make sure that it has reached the required depth. Therefore, check with a spirit level that the screw pile is straight in all directions. If necessary, make small adjustments by screwing the pile back a little.
